Garlic is popping up

These oddly warm spring days have resulted in a lot of things, but new garlic is the most exciting thing I can think of today. I planted the garlic last fall... four organic varieties that I got from a farm in Hood River. I mulched them heavily and put them to bed for winter. Now, here they come.

They will be harvested later this summer and will make their way to my CSA shares. But most of the crop will be re-planted for next year in my effort to develop my own seed.
